Social Phobia It's natural to feel self-conscious, nervous, or shy in front of others at times. Anyone can have a racing heart, sweaty palms, or fluttering stomach when making a presentation, going on a date or at a job interview, but most people manage to get through these moments when they need to. For some people though, the anxiety that goes with feeling shy or self-conscious can be extreme. It can seem so unbearable that they might feel too nervous to speak to new people, be unable to make eye contact when out and about, or avoid chatting with others at work or college. When people feel so self-conscious and anxious that it prevents them from speaking up or socializing most of the time, it's probably more than shyness. It may be an anxiety condition called social phobia. Social phobia (also sometimes called social anxiety) is a type of anxiety problem. Extreme feelings of shyness and self-consciousness build into a powerful fear. As a result, a person feels uncomfortable participating in everyday social situations. People with social phobia can usually interact easily with family and a few close friends, but meeting new people, talking in a group, or speaking in public can cause their extreme shyness to kick in. With social phobia, a person's extreme shyness, self-consciousness, and fears of embarrassment get in the way of life. Instead of enjoying social activities, people with social phobia might dread them, avoiding some of them altogether. If this sounds like you, then you are not alone, you are suffering from Social Phobia. Jane Giles ![]() Treating the cause of your Social Phobia - with Pure Hypnoanalysis The anxiety that you are experiencing is a symptom of a deep rooted, unresolved emotion. It is this 'bottled up' emotion that is the cause of your problems. During Pure Hypnoanalysis (Analytical Therapy) your sub-conscious is able to release these buried emotions and along with them, the need to create the unwanted symptoms. This is why Pure Hypnoanalysis is a unique therapy, it resolves the root cause of the symptoms, offering a permanent solution, while other therapies like CBT, Clinical Hypnosis and NLP just treat the symptoms, leaving the problem buried deep in the subconscious, ready to strike again. I am a fully trained member of The IAPH and can offer you a professional, confidential and non-judgmental environment in which to take you through the process of Pure Hypnoanalysis. By working together over a number of sessions you will find yourself at the centre of a truly liberating and life changing experience. The process of Pure Hypnoanalysis takes approximately 8 (no more than 12) weekly sessions of 50 minutes. Pure Hypnoanalysis is a highly developed form of hypnoanalysis (sometimes called hypno-analysis or analytical hypnotherapy). Hypnoanalysis, in its various forms, is practised all over the world, though only IAPH Members are trained to practice the amazing 'Pure' version.
